As part of activities commemorating the 2026 World Environment Day, ANOH Gas Processing Company (AGPC) joined the global community in reaffirming its commitment to environmental sustainability through a series of awareness and engagement initiatives centered on the theme, “Climate Action.”
The commemoration commenced with a company-wide environmental awareness session involving employees and contractors. The session emphasized the urgency of collective action in addressing the impacts of climate change and highlighted the importance of integrating sustainable practices into everyday operations.
Participants were sensitized to some of the key environmental challenges facing Nigeria as a result of climate change, including rising temperatures, flooding, land degradation, biodiversity loss, and other climate-related risks. The engagement also reinforced the need for individuals and organizations to adopt proactive measures that contribute to environmental resilience and sustainable development.
The awareness programme further underscored AGPC’s commitment as a responsible player in the energy sector to minimizing environmental impacts, promoting sustainable operations, and supporting climate resilience initiatives. Employees and contractors were reminded of their critical roles in advancing the Company’s environmental performance and were encouraged to embrace behaviors that contribute to environmental protection, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and long-term sustainable growth.
A major highlight of the celebration was the recognition of three employees namely, Akinwale Olaifa, Nike Kuku, and Robert Eta as Environmental Stewardship Champions. The awards were presented in acknowledgement of their proactive efforts in identifying environmental anomalies, supporting timely corrective actions, and consistently demonstrating behaviors that strengthen AGPC’s environmental stewardship culture and overall environmental performance.

The celebration concluded with a facility-wide housekeeping exercise at the project site, during which plastic waste materials were segregated and prepared for evacuation to an approved recycling facility. The initiative reinforced AGPC’s commitment to responsible waste management practices and the promotion of circular economy principles.
Through these activities, AGPC reaffirmed its unwavering dedication to environmental excellence, sustainable operations, and responsible corporate citizenship, while encouraging all employees and contractors to remain active contributors to climate action and environmental stewardship.
