
Biography
Mr. Olalekan Ogunleye is the current Chairman of the Board of Directors of ANOH Gas Processing Company Limited (“AGPC”), nominated by NNPC Gas Infrastructure Company Limited (“NGIC”), a subsidiary of NNPC Limited and was appointed to the Board of AGPC on the 7th of November 2023.
Olalekan Ogunleye is the Executive Vice President, Gas, Power & New Energy of NNPC Limited.
Olalekan Ogunleye, formerly the Deputy Managing Director of Nigeria LNG Limited, has over three decades of experience in the gas sector, primarily with the NNPC Limited. This has equipped him with significant industry experience in various aspects of the gas value chain. Until he joined NLNG in April 2022, he was the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of Gas Aggregation Company Nigeria Limited (GACN), established by the Federal Government of Nigeria to implement the Nigerian Gas Master Plan and manage domestic supply of gas.
Before then, Olalekan was the MD/CEO of N-Gas Limited, a joint venture company between NNPC, Chevron, and Shell. He became Company Secretary and Legal Adviser at the Nigerian Gas Marketing Company (NGMC) Limited, a subsidiary of NNPC, in 2017, and coordinated the novation of Nigerian Gas Company’s Gas Sales and Purchase Agreements with NGMC, among other things. He has also served as Company Secretary and Legal Adviser of Nigerian Gas Company Limited, another subsidiary of NNPC; as Senior Counsel, Commercial, Brass LNG Limited; and as Supervisor, Legal Services at the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company (PPMC), a subsidiary of NNPC. He started his career as Company Secretary and Business Development Manager at Segal Nigeria Limited, Lagos, in 1992, before joining NNPC in 1993 as Legal Officer.
Olalekan Ogunleye holds a degree in Law from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He was called to Bar in 1991 following his graduation from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos, the same year. He also has numerous certifications from leading national and international organizations.
Olalekan is a member of several professional organizations including the Nigerian Bar Association; International Bar Association; Chartered Institute of Arbitrators; and Association of International Petroleum Negotiators. He was the former Legal Adviser and Deputy Secretary-General of the Nigerian Gas Association
